Solatis Shrine

Ibun: First Mio, now Masaki…not to mention Tytti and Yang Long are comatose…

Ibun: Disaster continues to befall the Masoukishin heralds.

Wendy: How are Yang Long and Tytti doing?

Ibun: Their abrupt use of possession took a toll on them, but their prana’s back to normal levels.

Ibun: Their lives are in no danger, but they need to rest for awhile. The real problem lies with Masaki.

Masaki: …..

Ibun: You say you were rejected by Cybuster? That is quite serious.

Lune: Granny Ibun, can’t you do something to help?

Ibun: There’s only one thing that I can do. We must go to the spirit realm.

Wendy: But…Masaki can’t pilot Cybuster…

Ibun: The spirit realm can tap into a person’s subconscious. If you can’t use Cybuster, just imagine that you’re riding Jaohm.

Ibun: Jaohm shouldn’t reject you in the same way.

Lune: Huh? But Jaohm’s still with Gennady.

Ibun: Have you forgotten? The spirit realm isn’t constrained by the same rules as the material realm. You once fought yourself in there, didn’t you?

Lune: Oh, right. But if that’s the case, then can Masaki just imagine that he’s piloting Cybuster?

Ibun: He won’t be able to manifest it in his mind, not after going through the experience of being rejected.

Masaki: But…why would Cybuster reject me?

Ibun: The reason for that lies within your heart. It wouldn’t do any good if I were to try and explain it to you.

Masaki: My…heart…

Ibun: It’s not something that can be resolved through words, but through experience.

Lune: Hmm, well…I didn’t mention it before, but…Masaki’s been more argumentive lately.

Masaki: Well, maybe, but…that’s because I’ve had a lot on my mind…

Wendy: I know that the things we’ve seen lately have been quite shocking, but…you have been unusually pensive.

Masaki: I was more ignorant in the past. Now I’m not. Now that I understand the weight of my responsibility, I hate it.

Masaki: That’s why I’ve been more withdrawn…

Ibun: Talking about this won’t get us anywhere. First we must go to the spirit realm. Everything else will follow from there.

Masaki: …Alright.

Ibun: Lune, Wendy. You two will also come with us.

Lune: Huh? We’re going too?

Ibun: This is just a hunch…but I feel Masaki will need both of you to help him.

Wendy: What? But the spirit realm will also be connected to Masaki’s subconscious, right? It could be dangerous to bring us in such close proximity…

Ibun: Even if you do interact with his unconscious mind, it will only be on a superficial level. You won’t delve any further in than you need to.

Lune: That being said…is Masaki okay with this?

Masaki: …Right now, I feel like I want all the support I can get.

Ibun: Then you have no objections?

Masaki: Yeah, I’m fine with it.

Ibun: Very good, then the two of you get ready.

Lune: O-Okay…um, what should I do?

Wendy: Put your hand on the crystal ball here. That will allow you to link up.

Lune: It’s really that easy?

Ibun: You have trained in the spirit world before. The record from that time is still in effect.

Lune: Oh, I see.

Chapter 24: The Rolling Waves Return to Fall

Spirit Realm

*Jaohm manifests on the field*

Masaki: Jaohm…at least you aren’t rejecting me…

Ibun: Can you hear us, Masaki?

Masaki: Yeah, loud and clear.

Wendy: Good, it looks like you can still pilot Jaohm.

Masaki: Wendy…yeah, looks that way.

Lune: Huh, this isn’t too different from when we did that training.

Ibun: This time, your opponent will be different. Masaki, are you ready?

Masaki: Y-Yeah. But when you say different…

*Diablo appears*

Masaki: Diablo!? I’m gonna be fighting Precia!?

Maddock: What am I, chopped liver? Forget about me already, Masaki?

Masaki: O…Old man Maddock!?

Lune: Huh? Who’s he?

Wendy: He was Diablo’s original herald. He was killed at the start of the Four Seasons War…

Ibun: Long time no see, Maddock.

Maddock: Ah, Granny Ibun. You’re looking well.

Ibun: So are you…which is odd to say. Nevertheless, it’s good to see you haven’t changed.

Maddock: That’s no way to greet a dead person. Hyahyahyah!

Masaki: What the heck is going on!? Why is old Maddock…!?

Ibun: Hmm, Mio had the exact same reaction. Didn’t she tell you anything about her experience?

Masaki: N-No…first I’ve heard of this.

Ibun: The Maddock you see there is like an elemental spirit. They’re both formed by our memories.

Masaki: Memories…are capable of summoning the dead?

Ibun: No, the deceased do not truly appear before us. They’re reconstructed from their memories and what we remember of them.

Masaki: So they’re not actually the person that died?

Ibun: Yes, unlike us they do not grow or change.

Maddock: Enough expository banter, I’m ready to throw down with you, Masaki.

Masaki: Throw down…you want to fight me?

Maddock: Obviously. That’s why I’m here.

Masaki: B-But, I can’t fight you for no reason!

Maddock: I have a reason. To help you remember what you’ve forgotten. That’s good enough for me.

Masaki: What I’ve…forgotten?

Maddock: Well then, let’s go!

*Jaohm moves to fight Diablo, Stage begins*

*VS Maddock*

Maddock: Come to think of it, I never told you. About my past, that is.

Masaki: Your past?

Maddock: Well, listen up. I was once a member of a terrorist organization.

Masaki: Wha…!? Old man, YOU were a terrorist!?

Maddock: It was a case of youthful indiscretion. At the time, I was convinced that I was in the right.

Masaki: I…Any act of terrorism is inexcusable!

Maddock: I’m glad you realize that. By the time I did, it was too late to take back my actions.

Masaki: …I don’t want to hear what made you realize. Bottom line, you quit being a terrorist?

Maddock: Yes. I ended up working on the side of the law. Though being a Masouki herald was pretty similar.

Maddock: In any case, you remind me of me from back then.

Masaki: I’m…like a terrorist!? Don’t mock me!! I’m trying to think of ways to resolve conflict without fighting!

Maddock: Oh dear…it looks like words aren’t enough after all

Maddock: So come at me with all you’ve got, Masaki!

Masaki: Tch…f-fine!

*Defeat Maddock*

Maddock: Ho…you’ve gotten stronger, Masaki.

Masaki: Same to you, old man. You were better than I thought you’d be.

Maddock: But you’re still far from your old peak. I guess this is as far as I can take you…

Masaki: H-Hey, old man!

Maddock: No need to worry. I’m just going back to where I came from.

Masaki: Old man Maddock…

Maddock: Think back to when you first came to La Gias. What made you angry, and what you wanted to protect…

Masaki: The first time…what made me angry…

Maddock: …That’s all from me. We may meet again someday…take care of yourself until then.

*Diablo vanishes*

Masaki: Maddock…

Masaki: I…I just…couldn’t forgive terrorists…so…I fought against them…

Ibun: Hmm…

Ibun: You did well, Maddock. Apparently, Cybuster is beginning to respond to Masaki.

Masaki: Huh!?

Ibun: Call out to Cybuster.

Masaki: …Cybuster. Can you hear me…?

Wendy: …..

Lune: …..

Masaki: Cybuster…

Masaki: Come!! CYBUSTER!!

*Jaohm vanishes in a pillar of light, with Cybuster appearing in its’ place*

Masaki: Ah…

Lune: Yay!!

Wendy: Cybuster…is back!

Masaki: Cybuster…

Ibun: Don’t get too excited. You’ve only just been reaccepted.

Ibun: You still can’t use the same power you had before. Do you sense it?

Masaki: Y-Yeah…something still doesn’t feel right…

Ibun: Hm. Well then, begin the next trial.

Masaki: There’s more?

Ibun: The trials will continue until you and Cyfis, the patron spirit of Cybuster, are fully aligned.

Masaki: …I understand. Let’s keep going.

Ibun: Very good, continuing.

*Dinforce appears*

Masaki: Dinforce!? I’m fighting Tian this time!?

Tian: Geez, just when I though I could relax in Nirvana…this must be karma.

Masaki: Why…why do I have to keep fighting my friends!?

Tian: Hmm? You…you’ve been possessed by some kind of evil?

Masaki: W-What?

Tian: Hm, so you’ve fallen into darkness. Looks like this monk need to guide you back to the right path.

Masaki: H-Hey…

Tian: Come! Let us speak from our hearts, using our fists!

Masaki: You’re as nonsensical as ever…

Masaki: Still, I’ll take you up on that!!

*Cybuster moves to face off against Dinforce, Stage resumes*

*VS Tian*

Tian: Hey, what’s the matter!? You’re heart’s not in this! Don’t hold back on me now!

Masaki: Guh…not half bad for someone who’s died!

Tian: By my karma, I’ve returned after passing through the six paths of reincarnation!

Tian: No, wait. If the buddha exists in all things, maybe I’ve become part of the buddha.

Masaki: What are you mumbling about?

Tian: Hm? Hey, don’t interrupt a monk’s enlightenment!

Masaki: Huh? What’re you talking about? We’re in the middle of a battle.

Tian: Uh…w-well, there’s gradual enlightenment and then there’s sudden enlightenment…

Masaki: Ever the scatterbrainedl monk.

Tian: Shut up! I’ll make you a Buddhist yet!

Masaki: Don’t talk to me like I’m a wax figure! My homeland is a Buddhist one!

*Defeat Tian*

Tian: Hmm, well done. Do you feel as though you’ve grown at all?

Masaki: I’m not sure…

Tian: Well, I believe that you have, even if only a little.

Masaki: Really!?

Tian: Hm. It’s just a feeling.

Masaki: …That’s not helpful.

Tian: Anyway, I’ve done all I can do. The rest is up to you.

Masaki: You didn’t do anything!

Tian: Until we meet again, lost lamb.

*Dinforce vansihes*

Masaki: That’s also not a Buddhist saying.

Ibun: Hmm…

Masaki: Hey Granny, did it work?

Ibun: In a way it did, and in another way it didn’t.

Masaki: Great, even the old lady’s talking like that.

{If Cybuster’s HP < 100%}

Lune: Masaki, you alright?

Masaki: Y-Yeah. Somehow.

Lune: Still…

*Cybuster recovers full HP*

Masaki: Huh? What just happened? The damage just fixed itself?

Ibun: Well, Lune. Your words seemed to have worked.

Lune: Eh? They did?

Masaki: I don’t know how it worked, but…thank you, Lune.

Ibun: Now, let’s move on.

Masaki: Okay, I’m ready.

*Giolast appears*

Masaki: Giolast…? Then the dead person piloting Giolast is…no way…

Zeolute: Yes, it’s me.

Masaki: Zeolute!? Even you…

Zeolute: Hmm, you still don’t understand? That’s troubling…

Masaki: What don’t I understand!?

Zeolute: Think back to the time that I died.

Masaki: Oh…that’s…when Shu…

Zeolute: Even though I knew I would most likely die, I still fought that battle…do you know why?

Masaki: …..

Zeolute: Looks like you’re starting to understand. There’s still something I want to convey to you. Let’s see if you can grasp it in this battle.

Masaki: …Alright.

Masaki: Let’s go!

*Cybuster moves to face off against Giolast, Stage resumes*

* VS Zeolute*

Zeolute: It looks like your skills have improved.

Masaki: Y-You think so?

Zeolute: Yes, I do. However, there’s a sort of hesitancy in your swordsmanship.

Masaki: !?

Zeolute: You can try and run from fighting, but eventually the fighting will catch up to you.

Masaki: I…I know that.

Zeolute: Then face it. You have the power to do so.

Masaki: B-But…

Masaki: Argh!!

*Defeat Zeolute*

Zeolute: Well, the master has been surpassed. I yield.

Masaki: No…this is Cybuster’s power. Not mine…

Zeolute: Let me ask you something, then. Was is your will that lead you to wield that power? Or Cybuster’s?

Masaki: I…it was…my will, and Cybuster’s will…both of us.

Zeolute: I’m glad to see you realize that.

Masaki: But…even if it is the spirit’s will…

Masaki: All this fighting…it only produces hatred…not peace…

Zeolute: …I see. Then this is as far as I can bring you.

Masaki: Huh? Wh-what!?

Zeolute: At any rate, I’ve guided you further along. I’ll leave the rest to whoever comes next.

Masaki: Zeolute…you’re leaving?

Zeolute: Yes, my part has come to an end. Please, take good care of Precia.

Masaki: Yeah…I will.

*Giolast vanishes*

{If Cybuster’s HP < 100%}

Wendy: Masaki, can you keep going?

Masaki: Yeah, I’ll manage…

Wendy: Masaki…

*Cybuster recovers full HP*

Masaki: I’ve…recovered?

Ibun: Hm, it looks like Wendy’s feeling got across.

Wendy: Eh? Really!? W-Well, Masaki…

Masaki: I feel a lot better! Thanks, Wendy.

Wendy: …Fibbing doesn’t become you, Lady Ibun.

Ibun: Ho ho ho.

*Duraxyll appears*

Masaki: Duraxyll…I see. This time it’s Prince Feil.

Feil: Yes, it is I.

Masaki: You…you’re going to make me fight you again!?

Feil: If it will help you to recover that which you have lost, I will gladly be your opponent.

Masaki: Your Highness…

Feil: That is the only path of atonement left for me.

Masaki: Atonement…don’t say that! Your Highness…you were a great man right to the very end.

Feil: Thank you, Masaki. And, to express my gratitude…I’ll do what I can to erase your doubts.

Feil: Are you prepared?

Masaki: …I am.

Masaki: Let’s go!!

*Cybuster moves to face off against Dinforce, Stage resumes*

* VS Feil*

Masaki: Your Highness…you fought for peace, right?

Feil: Yes, I did…or rather, I thought I did.

Feil: You were the one who made me realize that I was in error, Masaki.

Masaki: Me…?

Feil: Peace is invaluable. It isn’t something that you can just grant to someone. It’s something that needs constant protection.

Masaki: Your Highness…

Feil: But I was in too much of a hurry, and so you confronted me without hesitation. I would never have realized that without that battle

Masaki: Without that battle…you really wouldn’t have realized that…?

Feil: Peace can be attained through enslavement of others, and war can be waged for liberation and for self-defense. They’re too complex to be explained through a single dialogue.

Feil: The losses caused by fighting can be immeasurable. But just as many thing cannot be obtained or protected without that same fighting.

Masaki: I…I know all that, but…

Feil: Then grasp these things and remember! What you gained and what you lost in your fight with me!

Masaki: Ngh!!

*Defeat Feil*

Feil: …Do you understand now, Masaki?

Masaki: Am I…going to have to face another loss?

Feil: No…you have done well with what I entrusted to you. You won’t lose anything.

Masaki: What you entrusted to…me?

Feil: The heart of the spirit. The will of the spirit that resides in the Masoukishin…that’s what I entrusted to you.

Feil: A will that will not yield to anything. A power to fight any threat. All of that is within the Masoukishin.

Masaki: Yeah…that’s right. The Masoukishin were created…to fight and protect…

Masaki: You were the one who taught me that…

Feil: Peace is not something that comes from doing what the opposition wants. That’s merely subjugation, and it only creates a false peace.

Masaki: But…the hatred we create…it can’t be so easily erased…

Feil: So then let me ask you. Did you fight me because you hated me?

Masaki: Of course I didn’t!

Masaki: I had no choice but to fight…so I…

Feil: That’s right. There are times that you have to fight when your enemies don’t hate you. Likewise, there are times when you have to fight when your enemies do hate you.

Masaki: Ah…

Feil: No one wants to be hated. However…

Masaki: I know…that’s no excuse. Doing what you need to do…that’s more important.

Feil: Yes…that’s the Masaki that stood against me.

Masaki: Your Highness…I won’t say goodbye. We’ll see each other again…won’t we?

Feil: I cannot say…perhaps if you ever lose your way once more.

Masaki: So, you’re saying we may never meet again?

Feil: There’s no such thing in life as never losing your way. Especially with a sense of direction like yours.

Masaki: Haha, that’s a real nice thing to say.

Feil: Hm…hahaha. Until then.

Masaki: Yeah…until then, Feil.

*Duraxyll vanishes*

Masaki: …Never thought I’d be able to see him off with a smile.

*Cybuster returns to the center area, where a light begins to shine*

Masaki: !? What…? Is there more?

????: …Masaki.

Masaki: ? Who’s there?

????: Ah…you are finally able to hear me, Masaki.

Masaki: Seriously, who are you?

Cyfis, the Spirit of Wind

Cyfis: I am Cyfis. The patron spirit of the Masoukishin Cybuster.

Masaki: Whoa!? Cyfis…you can speak with me?

Masaki: No, wait. Come to think of it, I think I heard a voice that one time I used Possession..

Masaki: Then again, I couldn’t hear it clearly at the time, and…

Cyfis: Yes?

Masaki: Cyfis, are you a girl?

Cyfis: Elemental Spirts do not have genders like humans…our appearance is taken from the statues enshrined for us in ages past. To go into further detail…

Masaki: Whoa, whoa! I don’t really care that much. Besides…

Cyfis: Yes?

Masaki: Uh, well, you know…I’ve been kind of holding you back for awhile, haven’t I?

Cyfis: That is true. You have been unable to hear my voice.

Masaki: …I’m sorry.

Cyfis: But now, we are attuned with one another to the point where we can communicate.

Masaki: Ah, I see…so we’re in sync.

Cyfis: Yes, and now I think it may be possible for you to enter Possession at will.

Masaki: …Seriously?

Cyfis: However, Possession will still impose a great strain on you. You will not be able to use it multiple times in quick succession.

Masaki: …I think I went through something similar with Cyflash in the past.

Cyfis: In addition, when my power is manifested, Cybuster will be able to channel the Astral World through its form.

Masaki: And this will do…what?

Cyfis: Specifically, this Astral Armor will increase it’s performance and cause it to partially change shape.

Masaki: So it’s a power up?

Cyfis: In extremely simple terms, that is correct.

Masaki: …Sorry, but I’m a simple person.

Cyfis: No, I admire that quality of yours. You needn’t be sorry for it.

Masaki: The way you talk really gives you an upper-class air. Like you’re the daughter of some noble.

Masaki: Although, there are plenty of girls I know who don’t act like ladies at all. Like Lune.

Lune: Masaki! I can hear you! Are you talking to Cyfis?

Masaki: Oh? Eh? Lune, can’t you hear Cyfis’ voice?

Lune: Uh-uh. I can only hear your voice. Sounds like some sort of weird soliloquy.

Masaki: Ugh…

Cyfis: This may be the last time you and I have a chance to speak, as we may never achieve this level of synchronization in the future

Masaki: I-I see…

Cyfis: But I will always be with Cybuster. And I carry with me the memories of all people.

Cyfis: Those who are alive in the present, those who were alive in the past, and those who will live in the future…never forget this.

Masaki: Yeah…I won’t.

Cyfis: Well then…until we get that chance to speak again…

*The light fades, signaling Cyfis’ departure*

Masaki: Yeah, until we get that chance.

*Cybuster activates Possession*

Cybuster’s New Form

You have no idea how badly I wanted to title this picture “The Masoukishin’s New Clothes”

Masaki: So this…is how Cybuster’s new form looks.

Lune: Did it…just change shape?

Wendy: But…how…

Ibun: The power of Cyfis, that’s how.

Masaki: Yeah, Cyfis is lending me her power. She said that would allow me to endure Possession.

Wendy: Endure Possession…I didn’t know such a thing was be possible…

Masaki: Starting now, I can enter Possession at will and maintain it for a short time.

Wendy: Enter Possession at will!? I was the one who designed it, and I never imagine such a feat could be performed…

Ibun: Seems like Cyfis and Cybuster work well together.

{If Masaki was never shot down}

Masaki: Hm? I don’t recognize that weapon. When did…

Wendy: A new weapon?

Wendy: Oh…could it be…Prana Discharge?

Masaki: Huh? Oh, yeah…looks like that’s the name of the weapon. How’d you know that?

Wendy: It’s a weapon that was left unfinished due to insufficient output. I left the circuitry in place, but I never thought it would be made useable.

Ibun: It must be because of Cyfis, like Possession.

Lune: Can an elemental spirit do something like that?

Ibun: If you can forge a contract with a high-ranking spirit, the impact it can have on a Masouki is beyond imagination.

Wendy: …I designed it, and yet Cybuster continues to surprise me.

*Cybuster deactivates Possession*

Lune: What? It changed back.

Ibun: That’s due to an auxiliary system that kicks in when Possession is activated for a certain length of time. It serves to keep it from being overused.

Wendy: …Possession consumes a lot of Prana, so I would still recommend that you don’t use it too much…

Wendy: Even after strengthening yourself, I don’t know what kind of effect it may have.

Masaki: I guess…I feel pretty…tired…

Ibun: Looks like you’ve reached the end of your rope. Masaki, I’ll return you to the material world.

Masaki: Yeah…please…

Solatis Shrine

Ibun: Well, looks like you’re back to your old self.

Masaki: Yeah…thank you, Granny Ibun.

Ibun: You should thank Maddock, Tian, Zeolute and Prince Feil first.

Masaki: Oh, right…everyone…I’m sorry. Thank you all.

Ibun: Don’t forget the two ladies who were watching over you.

Masaki: Y-Yeah…Lune, Wendy…thank you.

Lune: I-It’s kinda weird to hear you talk so formally.

Wendy: I-I agree.

Masaki: Well, let me say it again. Without you two, I’d never have regained my ability to pilot Cybuster.

Masaki: Thank you so much.

Wendy: Masaki…

Lune: A-Anyway! How’re you feeling? Tired out?

Masaki: Yeah…whew. I almost feel like I’m going to…like I’m going to…

*thud*

Masaki: M-Masaki!?

Wendy: Oh no!!

Ibun: No need to panic. He just passed out from a lack of prana.

Wendy: B-But, if he isn’t treated…

Ibun: Well…if you’re that worried, just replenish his prana yourself.

Wendy: Eh? When you say replenish…do you mean…that?

Lune: Huh? What’s that?

Ibun: A mouth-to-mouth transfusion.

Lune: Oh, mouth-to…

Lune: M-Mouth-to-mouth!?

Wendy: W-Well, you know, it’s only a first-aid treatment…

Ibun: Why so bashful? You’ve done it once before.

Lune: Huh? Wait, WHAT!? You’ve done this before!?

Wendy: I-It was only a medical procedure! Like artificial respiration!

Lune: Wendy, you cheated!

Wendy: I-I mean…it was an emergency…and it happened almost three years ago…

Lune: Well, since this is also an emergency, tell me how to do it.

Wendy: Eh? Y-You mean…prana replenishment?

Lune: Yes.

Wendy: W-Well, you just…how to explain…

Ibun: You need to pool your prana in your abdomen. I believe it’s the same as a Dantian breathing technique on the surface.

Lune: Oh, I know what that is.

Ibun: Then, you pour out that prana with your breath. And unlike artificial respiration, you do it in a single, slow breath.

Lune: S-Slow…

Ibun: You possess a high amount of prana, so replenishing Masaki’s should be easy.

Lune: E-Erm…f-first store it like you would in Dantian?

Lune: *gasp*

Ibun: Hm, not bad for a first timer. Now, all that’s left is the mouth-to-mouth technique…

Lune: …..

Lune: T-Time out! This is all just too sudden…

Ibun: Hmm, well, it can’t be helped. Wendy. Why don’t you show us how it’s done?

Wendy: What!? Y-Y-Y-Y-You want me to do it? Me?

Ibun: Merely as an example.

Wendy: B-But that’s…

Ibun: You did say this was an emergency. If you’re not up to it, would you like me to set the example?

Wendy: …..

Ibun: Hm? Wendy, you…

Lune: Whoa!? W-Wendy!? What’s up with your hair!?

Wendy: Hm? What? Is something wrong?

Lune: H-Huh? Was I just seeing things…?

Ibun: …Hmm. It appears some influence still remains.

Wendy: Um…what does that mean?

Ibun: Wendy. Whenever your emotions run high, a fragment of Tudy’s personality appears.

Wendy: What!? B-But my sister is…

Ibun: Yes, she’s gone. But the memories that you shared with her are not. But you don’t need to worry.

Ibun: It’s not Tudy herself that’s causing this, but the emotions that are closely aligned with what Tudy once felt.

Ibun: It might make your personality a slight bit more like Tudy’s, but I don’t think that will do you any harm. Hohoho.

Masaki: Ngh…*yawn*

Lune: Oh, Masaki! You’re awake! Thank goodness…

Masaki: Hm? Whazzat? Was I asleep?

Ibun: You’re as oblivious as ever, I see.

Ibun: Anyway, Wendy. Regarding that ‘Tudy-ization’ earlier…

Masaki: Huh? “Tudy-ization”? What does that mean?

Ibun: Ah yes, you missed it. Well, seeing is believing. Lune, come over here for a second.

Lune: Hm? What is it?

Ibun: …I’m about to give your relationship a little boost. Hup!

W-We’re stuck together!?

Lune: Uwah!?

Masaki: Oof! W-What the!? Granny, what the heck are you..

Lune: Huh!? Ah!? W-We’re…s-stuck together!

Masaki: What!? H-Hey! We really are…

Masaki: Ow ow ow! Lune! Quit shoving!

Lune: S-Sorry!

Ibun: Don’t lose your tempers. It’s just a little trick of mine. It’ll go away in a moment.

Masaki: What’s the big idea, old lady!?

Ibun: Take a look at Wendy.

Wendy: …..

Masaki: Huh!?

Lune: It’s just like a moment ago…

Lune: Oh, we’re free.

Ibun: There, Masaki. Just like I said.

Wendy: H-Huh? Why are you all staring at me…?

Masaki: Wendy, you don’t know what just happened to you?

Wendy: Hm? Oh…you mean the fragment of my sister that Lady Ibun spoke of?

Masaki: Hey Granny! Care to explain!?

Ibun: Simply put, whenever Wendy experiences a wave of strong emotion, Tudy’s residual memories cause this change to occur.

Ibun: Don’t worry, it’s completely benign.

Masaki: …You’re absolutely sure about that?

Ibun: I guarantee it. Though it might give her a bit of a mean streak.

Ibun: Still, Wendy’s pretty meek, so this might actually benefit her. Ho ho ho.

Masaki: This isn’t a joke!

Lune: …Geez. Maybe I’d better start watching my step.

Masaki: Are you okay with this, Wendy?

Wendy: Huh? Me? I…I suppose, as long as it won’t cause any harm.

Masaki: …Well, if Wendy’s fine with it, I’ve got nothing to say.

Wendy: (Sister…you’re still a part of me, even if only a little. I’m not sure if I should be happy or concerned…)
