The rebellion by the military organization the Divine Crusaders, more commonly known as the “DC War”…the battles we fought against aliens and monsters, the “L5 Campaign” and the “Inspectors Incident”…
And the battle that would later be called the “Shura Rebellion”…our unit participated in them, but it was the Earth Federation’s elite special forces unit, later known as the “Steel Dragon Squad”, that brought them to an end.
They not only defeated the leader of the Shura, but Shu Shirakawa, who suddenly turned against them, as well.
Yes, the man who had sparked the war with the aliens, who joined the Divine Crusaders in their rebellion, and had operated in the shadows ever since then, Shu Shirakawa, was dead.
However, the leading figures of the Earth Federation’s Government and Military were not convinced of this.
Why?
Because the remains of Shu’s machine, the Neo Granzon, were never found.
And so, the higher-ups gave the order.
“Find the wreckage of the Neo Granzon, and obtain proof that Shu Shirakawa is dead.”
A search team was formed for this purpose, and our unit was assigned to escort them in case of an emergency.
The operation was given the codename “Mission Devil”.
That man who had worked for so long in the darkness, Shu Shirakawa, must have been a very troublesome, or even a terrifying, figure.
Thus, our unit and the search team departed for outer space to search for any signs of the Neo Granzon.
Yet, even after several days, we couldn’t find anything of note…and just when I was starting to long for the blue waters of Valencia, something happened.
As my colleague, Albada, and I were returning to our mothership to resupply, we were suddenly overcome by the feeling that we were being pulled into an unfathomable abyss…
