Masoukishin Double Review & August Update

Hey there, everyone. I was intending on making this post at the start of the month, but as luck would have it, I came down sick. Just a regular cold, not that certain virus, but it kept me from doing any work on the website until a few days ago. Good news is that by the time this is posted, it’ll be out of my system. Anyway, I’ll keep this concise.

Masoukishin 1 Review

After many delays, I finally finished my double review for Super Robot Wars Gaiden/OG Saga: The Lord of Elemental. Within it you’ll find both my opinions for the original SNES version and the DS/PSP remake. Do note that for the latter I’m basing my opinions mainly on the PSP version.

Song of the Month: August 2022

Also, I did add the Song of the Month awhile ago, but I wasn’t able to make a post about it due to the aforementioned reason. In any case, the song I chose was La Gias Again, the title/credits theme for Masoukishin F: Coffin of the End.

Uploads for SotM have been kind of awkward the past couple of months, I know. But you know what they say: “When freaky aliens give you lemons, make freaky alien lemonade.” In other words, there’s a reason that I chose to have this track and Winds of La Gias on the site at the same time. Take a listen to them one after another, and you’ll see what I mean.

Yep, something I didn’t notice for quite a long time. La Gias Again is indeed a remix of Winds. And let me tell you, I was a fan of the track from the get-go. Learning that it’s in fact another rendition of what can be considered the main theme of the Masoukishin games just elevates it in my eyes. And hey, if ya ain’t know, know you know too.

That’s all from me this time. Work has also resumed on the next chapter of Masoukishin II, but I can’t say when it’ll be released. I also intend on finally fixing up the Archives page during my spare time. I’ll see you the next time I have something to report. Gespenst Type-0, over and out.
